2016-2017 Friday Finale: 4th Quarter Sessions

We’re excited to announce the FOURTH QUARTER Friday Finale class offerings for 2016-2017. The cost is $105 for one class and $210 for two classes. Six sessions are offered this quarter on the following dates:

Dates for the Fourth Quarter sessions are as follows: March 24th, March 31st, April 21st, April 28th, May 5th, and May 12th

Note: On the school dates when Friday Finale classes are not offered,  AfterCare is available for students who need to stay past the 12:15 pm Friday dismissal time. 

Class Offerings

SESSION ONE CLASSES 1PM – 2PM

Puppet Club
If your child has a flair for the dramatic, he or she will want to get the chance to perform with puppet club this year.  There will be a K5-1st team that will perform for K-3, K-4 and K-5 chapel and a 2nd-5th grade team that will perform for their chapel.  Students will have fun while using puppets as a way to share Bible truths.

Karate Lessons
Family Christian Karate is offering classes for students of all ages to learn the skills to defend themselves. Please be sure to complete the additional form if you need a T-shirt or uniform. You may get the form from the front desk or e-mailed by Michelle Smith.

Crazy Crafts
This class will be all about getting creative and having fun!  If you like doing crafts, then this class is the one to pick!  Each week we will be doing a different project that the students will get to bring home with them.  Depending on the ages of the students that I have and their interests, I will pick projects that will be enjoyed by all! $15 Supply Fee.

Reading Counts
This class is designed for BCA students who LOVE Reading Counts and never seem to get enough of it! Students will have the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful media center, read books, and take as many Reading Counts quizzes as they can manage. On the other hand, if a student just needs some extra time and help with the program, this class is fun for them, too.

Beginning Guitar Class
In this class students will learn critical tools to grow as a player including: learn to read music; learn how to play chords in different keys of music & how they fit into the scope of music; develop both an ability to accurately strum & finger pick; learn songs; develop the ability and confidence to perform in front of peers as well as others; and develop and grow consistency, speed, accuracy of notes, smoothness of transitions & hand strength. *Students will need to have the following supplies: acoustic guitar, picks, capo, tuner, binder with paper to take notes. This class also has a supply fee of $15 and a higher class fee of $125.

Video Game Programming
Youth Technology Learning Center (YTLC) utilizes the complexities of coding and computer programming to teach students to create their very own interactive computer video games.  Students will be learning computer skills through creative interaction with computer programming.  Students will learn to create characters, backgrounds, levels of difficulty, and stories for a complete game programming experience. At the end of class they will have a game to bring home with them.

SESSION TWO CLASSES 2PM – 3PM

Robotics 2
YTLC utilizes LEGO® Education WeDo building kits to teach students elementary engineering as applied to building real world robotic models.  Students are also introduced to a simple programming interface as they work in teams to two to complete their building challenges and learn team work.

Jumping for Jesus
This rope jumping class is open to all ages. Jumpers will learn single rope skills, partner skills, Double Dutch, and long rope skills. They will also learn how to share their faith. There is a $10 supply fee for this class (for new students) which includes a speed rope and Jumping for Jesus t-shirt.

Funny Fairy Tales and Crafty Characters
Let your little princesses shine in this fun-filled class!  We will be covering the basics of singing, dancing and acting with the fairy tale flair, featuting mixed-up versions of classic stories and songs from their favorite Disney princesses. We will be making fun fairy tale accessories and props to go along with the songs that they have learned and the stories we cover, an added take-home treat!  At the end of the quarter we will be presenting a special showcase for all parents and friends to see how hard they have been working. At the end of the quarter we will be presenting a special showcase for all parents and friends to see how hard they have been working. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move around.  There is a $12 supply fee for this class.

Drama
During this class, students will learn the basics of acting through fun drama games and high-energy exercises.  Students will create unique characters and explore performing onstage.  Drama helps build skills of confidence, imagination and memoriazation.  The class will culminate in a small performance at the end of the session.   Students need to wear clothing in which they can move around: they will be jumping, rolling, crawling and  doing other physical activities.
