Sara’s First Day of Middle School – Why I love BCA! by BCA Mom, Pennie Harris

“Greetings All!  Busy day for you all but I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for what you do.  As you may have heard, Sara and I were involved in an accident this morning on our way to school.  Praise the Lord the accident was not serious and most importantly not my fault.  🙂  Sara was a little upset for obvious reasons because now we were going to be late for her first official day of BCA’s Middle School.  Yes, she has been at BCA since K3 but nonetheless she was still looking forward to what God had for her next 3 years as a middle schooler.  Earlier this year, she made a choice to stay at BCA for middle school when she explored perhaps going to a public middle school.  She prayed about this decision for a little while and knew after a few weeks, that BCA was where she needed to be.   This morning, I realized without a shadow of a doubt this is why we chose BCA.  When I called Mrs. Stewart this morning to tell her we were involved in an accident, she immediately asked where we were and let us come get Sara.

Thank you to Mrs. Wheeler for not only being a best friend to me but in that moment, you represented BCA in a fine fashion.  Thank you Mrs. Stewart for being so quick to respond and immediately know Sara would be anxious to get to school. Add this to a number of my “Bridgeway Moments”.  If this is how her middle school years begin, then I can think of no better place for her than BCA.”

“Why We Chose BCA?” – The Armstrong Family

A Pleasant Surprise by BCA dad, Chad Kee

“This is our first year outside of the public school system. The last several years our kids attended Shiloh Elementary and loved it. We loved it. What a great school and great leaders. Unfortunately the time had come for our oldest to leave and move on to Middle School. Hillary and I felt it would serve Isabella and her personality best if we could find a smaller environment as she transitioned during the middle school years. With that said, the search began. Hillary gets High Honors in researching and seeking out all the options. After what seemed like months and ALOT of conversations she had honed it down to just a few. All of the options really were great. Some of the reasons we used to eliminate was based on a few factors: Cost, Location of School, or Type of school. We found some incredible Hybrid Schools but needed a traditional full-time solution. As we discussed the options we decided to visit a few and Bridgeway Christian Academy won our hearts. It actually surprised us both. We simply did not have any expectations or previous knowledge of the school and they seemed to surprise us at every turn. It appears to be a little school but it really is a hidden gem that has a deceptively large campus. At our tour and meeting of the staff it became clear how much we both felt it was the right place. They checked all of our boxes so we made the decision. The catch was that after we made the decision for Isabella we decided we would wait until middle school for Olivia. Over the next couple weeks we had several orientation meetings that just reinforced our decision more and more. The finally straw that did it for us was the backyard bash. It is a night all the families come together out on the soccer field in the back and have a big family cookout to kickoff the new school year. Again, Hillary and I were blown away especially in meeting the other families that were there knowing that we would be doing a little bit of life with them. On the way home, Hillary and I decided it might be a little tough but we would take Olivia out of Shiloh that we loved and she had already started a few days before and move her to Bridgeway Christian Academy. It was the best decision we could have made. I honestly never really thought I would have kiddos in private school because we have only great things to say about our public system but I am happy we made the choice. It is not the right answer for everyone but I wanted to share our journey in case it helps any of you thinking and looking like my wife did so well for us.”
