School News

We had a great kickoff to our R3 program with a full school assembly last Thursday morning.  What is R3 you ask? It is a program our Middle School has been using for a few years now, and we decided to implement it into the Lower School as well this year.  The program encourages students to be Responsible, be Respectful and to be Relational.  And of course, we have to add a little healthy competition to the mix. Each student is assigned to a team – grey, blue or red and throughout the school year they can earn their team R3 points for displaying one of the traits.

Thank you lower school parents for joining us for Curriculum night last Thursday.  We hope that you found the time to be informative as we move forward into the school year.  Middle School curriculum night is TOMORROW at 6:30pm.  During this time you will learn about our Christian philosophy, curriculum, and receive an overview of your child’s classroom activities and routines.  This meeting is for parents only – no childcare will be provided.  Please make every effort to attend.

We LOVE having parents visit our school.  When visiting, we ask that you stop by the front desk to put on a name tag and to also let the front desk know the reason for your visit.   During the times of 7:35 am to 8 am, our teachers are prepping their classes for the day and getting ready to receive students.  We ask that unless you have a scheduled appointment, that you refrain from entering the educational wing of the building.  If you would like to visit the used uniform this time, please let the front desk know.  We also ask that during afternoon carpool time (2:50 – 3:15 pm), you refrain from the educational wing as our teachers are closing out their day in various ways and to keep the halls clear for the carpool line to flow more smoothly.

On jeans days, students can wear full-length jeans or capri jeans. Jean skirts or shorts are not permitted.  Students may wear their uniform bottom (i.e.: skort, khaki shorts) with a BCA or Christian t-shirt.  This is an option, especially during the warmer months.

Lion’s Roar Challenge #1 – click here to complete this form by the end of the day Friday, and your child(ren) will earn a special treat next Tuesday.

We have an excellent opportunity to acquire books for the Media Center and your child’s classroom. Scholastic and Kellogg’s have partnered together to provide books for schools. Click here to learn more. Offer ends Sept 30.

Did you know that there are ways to earn money for BCA by shopping at a variety of retailers? It is so easy and cost you NOTHING!  Get grandparents and friends involved too, and BCA will earn even more. Click here to see how you can help earn BCA easy money.

You may have heard, but this year we are celebrating BCA’s 20th anniversary on November 18th. Mark your calendars and plan to attend this wonderful event where we get the opportunity to give glory to God and celebrate His faithfulness to BCA for 20 years of providing Christ-centered education.  We are excited to have many BCA alum come back to visit.  We also want the opportunity to highlight our BCA alum on our website and in the Lion’s Roar. If you know of some “alumni news”, please share it with us by emailing Melissa Hayes (mhayes@bridgewayca.org).

BCA alumni, Sarah Martore and Colby Wheeler,  are both serving this year on the WyldLife leadership team.  WyldLife is a Younglife program designed to get middle school students involved.  It is great to hear of BCA’s alumni doing great things for the Kingdom. We are so proud!  They have their first meeting on September 14th and BCA middle school students are welcome to attend.
