Check out the end of the year video!

Do you feel it? The end is near! The 2017.2018 school year is almost in the books.  Speaking of books, last Thursday we celebrated the reveal of this year’s yearbook.  Thank you to Kelly Mosley for putting together a beautiful book of memories.  Also special thanks to Travis Rhoads, Michelle McKinney, Lauren Brougher,  Paul Fortney, and Eddie Munive that contributed lots of pictures.  On Friday morning, we recognized the accomplishments of our first through fifth grade students at the Reading Counts award ceremonies.  Our students have been reading like crazy! Congrats to fifth grader, Caitlin Fields, for setting a new BCA Reading Counts record with over 1300 points.

Yesterday morning our sweet Kindergarten students graduated to first grade.  We are so proud of them and the accomplishments they have had this year. We cannot wait to see how well they do in first grade. Congrats grads!  Tonight we get to acknowledge our 8th grade students as they graduate from BCA and head on to 9th grade.  To say that these kids will be missed is a huge understatement.  We know that their foundation is strong and they are ready through the power of the Holy Spirit, to take on whatever lies ahead. Feel free to join us tonight at 7 pm for their graduation.

Family Ambassadors
We are looking for current families who are willing to serve as New Family Ambassadors to incoming new families for the 2018.2019 school year.  The goal of the ambassador program is to make our new families feel welcome at BCA and get them involved in a way that they are comfortable. We also want to provide new families with another resource outside of the BCA staff to ask questions, voice concerns, seek advice, etc. This program is a great way to grow and build community.

So, what does this look like?

  • Reach out to new family assigned by the Director of Admissions (DOA) once (or more) during the summer welcoming them to the BCA family. Can be done via email, card, playdate or grab a coffee.
  • Coordinate a time to meet them at the Back to School Bash. Maybe even show them around the facilities a little in case they forgot since their last visit. Introduce them to other BCA families.
  • Touch base with them periodically throughout the year to see how things are going. Please let the DOA know if there is anything we need to address.
  • Remind them of opportunities to get involved and events.
  • At the end of the year, find out how their first year went. Please let the DOA know of the feedback. This is a great way for us to learn, improve, and grow.

If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, please email Melissa Hayes (mhayes@bridgewayca.org).
