School News

This is our last full week of school and our preschool students last day is this Friday.  This year has truly flown by. Last Thursday morning Mrs. Buck’s second grade class led us in a chapel.  They did a phenomenal job sharing with us about honesty through scripture, skit and a demonstration with a Jenga game 🙂  It was awesome! Also last Thursday our 4th and 5th grade chorus students along with our band displayed their artistic gifts at the Spring Fine Arts Festival. It was fantastic!  Thank you to Mrs. Kilbride, Mrs. Thurmann, and Mr. Watanabe for their hard work and for putting together a beautiful evening.  Our 8th graders led the Middle School chapel yesterday afternoon. They shared with us that we cannot earn God’s favor by being good. It is about Jesus and His work on the cross on our behalf. Great job 8th grade!

Yearbook Dedication
Join us tomorrow morning at 8:10 am in the Worship Center for the reveal and dedication of the 2017.2018 yearbook.  Thank you to Mrs. Kelly Mosley for all her hard work putting this year’s yearbook together for us.

Spirit Wear T-shirt Contest
We are getting ready to celebrate BCA’s 20th year!  To kick off the celebration, we are so excited to announce the BCA Spirit Wear T-shirt contest for the 2018.2019 school year!  Deadline to sub your design to Mrs. Hayes (mhayes@bridgewayca.org) is Thursday, May 17, 2018. Over the summer, the administration will pick a winner! Like all contests, here are some guidelines/rules:

  • Contest is open to BCA students only
  • One entry per student due by May 17th
  • The design will appear on the front of the shirt, and you must use BCA or neutral colors (navy, red, white, grey, black or khaki). No more than three colors can be used.
  • The design must be no larger than 12×12, digitally created and submitted as a digital file (PDF or JPG).
  • Please incorporate BCA’s message, theme and 20th year anniversary, etc (i.e., know, grow and go, Luke 2:52)
  • Your design must be wholly original – no copyright material (except BCA logo). If you need access to BCA’s logo, etc, please contact Melissa Hayes (mhayes@bridgewayca.org)
BCA reserves the right to edit or modify the design, its position if required to fit the t-shirt.  BCA reserves the right to not use any of the submitted t-shirt designs if in the opinion of the judges none of the proposed designs adequately reflects BCA or is not of a sufficiently high level and quality of design.

New Family Ambassadors
We are looking for current families who are willing to serve as New Family Ambassadors to incoming new families for the 2018.2019 school year.  The goal of the ambassador program is to make our new families feel welcome at BCA and get them involved in a way that they are comfortable. We also want to provide new families with another resource outside of the BCA staff to ask questions, voice concerns, seek advice, etc. This program is a great way to grow and build community.

So, what does this look like?

  • Reach out to new family assigned by the Director of Admissions (DOA) once (or more) during the summer welcoming them to the BCA family. Can be done via email, card, playdate or grab a coffee.
  • Coordinate a time to meet them at the Back to School Bash. Maybe even show them around the facilities a little in case they forgot since their last visit. Introduce them to other BCA families.
  • Touch base with them periodically throughout the year to see how things are going. Please let the DOA know if there is anything we need to address.
  • Remind them of opportunities to get involved and events.
  • At the end of the year, find out how their first year went. Please let the DOA know of the feedback. This is a great way for us to learn, improve, and grow.

If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, please email Melissa Hayes (mhayes@bridgewayca.org).

Summer Camps

BCA is blessed to have amazing facilities, and we have the privilege of hosting several camps throughout the summer.
