School News   

Hello! We hope you are having a great week. Can you believe it is almost May!  Help us kick off the last month of school at the Final Fiesta this Sunday from 4:30 – 6:30 pm.  The deadline to RSVP is TODAY.  Click here to RSVP by Wednesday, April 25th. Payments can be made here or at the front desk. We will be doing a drawing for $1000 off your child’s tuition for the 2018.2019 school year.  To enter, families must RSVP by today and one family member must be present on Sunday evening when we draw at 6:15 pm. One entry per family.

Items to be Auctioned off:
  • Relax by the River in Murphy, North Carolina: Enjoy a 4 Day, 3 Night Stay in a cedar log cabin with 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeping loft and spacious family & dining room (sleeps 12). Dates can be coordinated based on availability. Value: $450, Starting Bid $300
  • Luxury Log Cabin in Ellijay, Ga: Bid on a 3 day, 2 night stay in a log cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, spacious great room and trout stream (sleeps 8).  Value: $350, Starting Bid: $200
  • Two Front Row seats at 8th Grade Graduation on Wednesday, May 23rd at 7 pm.  Starting Bid: $100
  • Two Front Rows at Kindergarten Graduation on Tuesday, May 22nd at 8:30 am. Starting Bid: $100
  • Lights, Curtain, Action: Experience an afternoon of culture with Mrs. Broyles and Ms. Michell.  Start with a lunch at Chick-Fil-A before taking in a theater performance of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at Wesleyan School on May 5th from 12:00-5:30 pm (6 students). Starting Bid: $100
  • Ms. T for the Day: Come to school dressed as Ms. Tiedemann!  Wear any costume or wacky wardrobe you desire and help her teach her class for the day! Tuesday. May 8, all day; available for 1 student. Starting Bid: $100
  • Principal for a Day: Come to school dressed as Mrs. Gastley and help her do her job for the day! Date TBD; available for 1 student. Starting Bid: $100
  • Queen of Carpool: How would you like to use one of the 5 most coveted parking spots at BCA for the 2018.19 school year? Pull in, park and have your child brought out to your car!  Now that is service with a smile! There are 5 spots available. Starting Bid: $500 
  • Soccer Lovers Unite: Want to kick off the summer at a professional soccer game? Snag this family 4 pack of tickets AND parking pass to experience Atlanta’s new Mercedes Benz Stadium. Date: Wed. May 9, 7:30 pm. Value: $300, Starting Bid: $200
  • “Waiting Angel” by Rachel Brown: 24″ x 24″ beautiful painting, Original Art. Value: $250, Starting Bid: $150

  • Sugar and Shopping: Is there a better combo? Let’s get to shopping at the best shopping destination in Alpharetta; Avalon! Students will get a little spending money as well! Let’s eat, shop and laugh the afternoon away on Saturday, May 12th from 2-5 pm; open to 8 students.  Starting Bid: $100
  • American Girl Tea Party: Bring your American Girl (or any doll) and join Mrs. Clark on Friday, May 11th from 2:30 – 4 pm for afternoon tea at The American Girl Bistro at Northpoint Mall. Enjoy tea sandwiches, sweet treats and a craft. Each girl will receive a book as well. Open to 10 students. Starting Bid: $100
  • Hair Affair: Enjoy a salon session and $200 toward services with Dawn at The Parlor Beauty Studio, located at 11035 Medlock Bridge Road in Johns Creek, as well as wonderful products to use with your new hair! Can be scheduled with Dawn based on appointment availability Value: $300, Starting Bid: $175
  • Tomahawk Chop the Night Away: What could be more fun than kicking off the summer with friends at an Atlanta Braves baseball  game! Come join Mr. Millis and Mrs. Guess as the Braves take on the Miami Marlins at Atlanta’s new Sun Trust Park on Saturday, May 19th at 7 pm. We will meet beforehand and carpool. This outing is limited to 12 5th-8th graders. Starting Bid: $100

Spirit Wear T-shirt Contest
We are getting ready to celebrate BCA’s 20th year!  To kick off the celebration, we are so excited to announce the BCA Spirit Wear T-shirt contest for the 2018.2019 school year!  Submit your design to Mrs. Hayes (mhayes@bridgewayca.org) by May 17, 2018. Over the summer, the administration will pick a winner!Like all contests, here are some guidelines/rules:

  • Contest is open to BCA students only
  • One entry per student due by May 17th
  • The design will appear on the front of the shirt and you must use BCA or neutral colors (navy, red, white, grey, black or khaki). No more than 3 colors can be used.
  • The design must be no larger than 12×12, digitally created and submitted as a digital file (PDF or JPG).
  • Please incorporate BCA’s message, theme and 20th year anniversary etc (ie: know, grow and go, Luke 2:52) 
  • Your design must be wholly original – no copyright material (except BCA logo). If you need access to BCA’s logo, etc, please contact Melissa Hayes (mhayes@bridgewayca.org)
BCA reserves the right to edit or modify the design, its position if required to fit the t-shirt.  BCA reserves the right to not use any of the submitted t-shirt designs if in the opinion of the judges none of the proposed designs adequately reflects BCA or is not of a sufficiently high level and quality of design.

National Day of Prayer – Thursday, May 3rd
What a privilege it is to be able to pray openly to our great Savior.  On Thursday, May 3rd we will be recognizing “National Day of Prayer” and focusing on this year’s theme of “Unity”.  Please join us for a special lower school chapel (preschool through 5th) at 8:15 am in the Auditorium.

Little Acorns at the Avalon
Bring your preschool aged tots for playtime in the Plaza at the Avalon next Tuesday, May 1st from 10- 12 am.  BCA will be there so stop by sporting your BCA gear to visit and do a fun craft.

Summer Camps at BCA
BCA is blessed to have amazing facilities and we have the privilege of hosting several camps throughout the summer. Click here to view summer camp offerings at BCA.

Athletic News 

We will play Notre Dame today at 4 pm at BCA. If we win today, we will play in the championship game tomorrow at 3:30 pm (also here).  There is a high percentage of rain in the forecast tomorrow so if we were to cancel, the championship game will be rescheduled for Friday afternoon at BCA. The time will either be 3 or 3:30 pm.  We will keep you posted if things change.
