Treat for Troops
Our Middle School will be holding a candy drive from November 2nd – 7th so we can bless our troops with some sweet treats! Please consider sending in individually-wrapped candy of any kind! It’s a perfect opportunity to share of your excess after all your festivities!  To make it extra fun, our Middle School R3 teams are partnering with our lower school classrooms to make it a competition.  The R3 team and lower school classes that have the heaviest weight in candy wins!  Lower school classes from that team will win a sweet treat!

    • K3/K4 and 3rd Grade – Green Team
    • 1st, 2nd, and 4th Grade – Red Team
    • Kindergarten and 5th Grade – Blue Team

The preschool and lower school chapel theme for the month of November is very fitting…GRATITUDE – letting others know you see how they’ve helped you! As always, we welcome parents to join us for chapel. Preschool through first grade meet on Tuesday mornings at 8:15am and 2nd through 5th meet at 8:15am on Thursday mornings.  Join us for a fun time of worship.

Book Fair Express

Choo choo… the Bookfair is coming the week of November 6th – 10th, but you do not have to wait to order books – you can purchase from BCA’s Online Book Fair.  The online book fair ends November 11th.  On Thursday November 9th, the book fair train will be pulling into the storybook night station.  Storybook night is a wonderful event and fun for all ages! The train will stop at the Craft Station, Story Station with Ms T (Q&A with the story characters), Game Station and Screen & Snack Station.  We will also be raffling off prizes that include a Basket of Books & Accessories, a BCA Spirit Wear Bundle and a $25 Gift Card to the book fair.

Veteran’s Day
Our Veteran’s Day program is coming up on Friday, November 10th at 10am.  We LOVE the opportunity to recognize and honor those who have served our great country.  Students will need to wear their DRESS UNIFORMS.  Please double check the dress uniform requirements and if you have questions as to whether something is approved, feel free to contact Melissa Hayes (mhayes@bridgewayca.org)

Operation Christmas Child
Boxes for Operation Christmas Child will be sent home today with your youngest child (at BCA).  Each family gets one box but let us know if you want more.  BCA’s collection week will be November 3rd-10th.  Putting together these boxes is a great opportunity to impress upon our children (and ourselves) the importance of serving others.  Click here to view some videos that will spark great conversation about Operation Christmas Child.

Parent Preview Days
Praise the Lord, we have already had two very successful Parent Preview Days but we have two more to go.  Invite your like-minded friends and family to join us on November 8th and 15th at 9:30am!

Mom’s Night Out
Calling all BCA ladies, looking for a time to unwind before the hussle and bussle of the holidays? The PTF is hosting a Mom’s Night Out on Thursday, November 16th. See below for more details.

8th Grade Fundraiser – Poisettias
The 8th graders are selling poinsettias to help raise money to fund their trip to Washington, D.C.  in the spring.  The plants are high quality and grown locally, coming in either red or white.  Poinsettias can be purchased in 6″ pots with foil/4-6 bracts ($12) or 8″ pots with foil/10-14 bracts ($20).  If there is a specific student that you would like to help support please let them know.  We will not be selling at Trunk or Treat this year but there will be an order form at the BCA front desk if you would like to place an order.  The deadline to place an order is November 17th and they will arrive on November 28th (day earlier than earlier stated) for the students to deliver.

Parents in Prayer

Join us for Parents in Prayer on Thursday mornings at 7:30am in the Gathering Place.  If you have a specific prayer need that you would like us to pray for, please complete this form. We consider it a privilege to pray for you.

Alumni News
We love keeping up and hearing great stories from BCA alumni.  If you have alumni news, we would love to hear about it. Please complete this form.

Just this past week we heard from BCA Alum Samuel Pickerign ’12.  After leaving BCA he went on the Minnehaha Academy in Minnesota where he participated in Football, Basketball, Track, Golf, Debate, Choir, Theatre and Student Research.  During his student research he worked on a project that sent two experiments to the International Space Station. He currently attends the University of Minnesota where he plays football and is an honor student.   Samual says that BCA helped him by providing a grounded foundation for his faith. “At a large, public University and even at a Christian high school, I have found my faith being tested, but the foundation built in at BCA has helped me to stay strong.”  Thanks Samuel for sharing with us – great to hear how well you are doing and BCA is blessed to be a part of your story.
