School News

Can you believe that this Friday will be the end of the first Quarter? Time is truly flying by. It will be Trunk or Treat time before we know it!  Make sure you mark your calendars for one of BCA’s favorite events of the year.  The Trunk or Treat will be held on Friday, October 27th in the lower parking lot from 6-8pm.  The PTF is already hard at work planning this amazing event.  The Trunk or Treat is also a fundraiser for our 8th graders who go to DC in the Spring.  If you will be doing a trunk or have a chili you’d like to submit into the contest or just provide, please complete this form by Friday, October 20th.

Poinsettias for Washington
The 8th graders are starting to sell poinsettias to raise money to help fund their trip to Washington, D.C.  in the spring.  The plants are high quality and grown locally, coming in either red or white.  Poinsettias can be purchased in 6″ pots with foil/4-6 bracts ($12) or 8″ pots with foil/10-14 bracts ($20).  If there is a specific student that you would like to help support please let them know.  We will not be selling at Trunk or Treat this year but there will be an order form at the BCA front desk if you would like to place an order.  The deadline to place an order is November 17th and they will arrive on November 29th for the students to deliver.

Parents in Prayer

Last week we had our first Parents in Prayer time. It was a sweet and intentional time of prayer. Thank you to those who were able to attend. Hope to see you again tomorrow.  We want the opportunity to pray for our school family.  If you have a request or praise that you would like to be lifted up, please complete this form. We consider it a privilege to pray for you.  Join us on Thursday mornings at 7:30am in the Gathering Place.

Parent Preview Days Coming Up

We have some some great opportunities for prospective new parents to tour the facilities and meet some of our wonderful teachers.  Here is what we need you to do – TELL EVERYONE!  We will be sending home postcards next week for you to hand out to people you think would be a good fit at BCA.

October – National Bullying Prevention Month
On Tuesday, we were all seeing blue as our students wore their navy blue uniform shirts to recognize National Bullying Prevention Month. On Friday afternoon, our Middle School students participated in a special chapel time where the MS teachers were able to go over some of the updated bullying policy and even share some of their experiences with bullying.  Throughout the month, we will continue to share information with our students and with you via social media about how to recognize bullying, what actually is bullying and what the Bible says on the topic.

Chapel
In preschool chapel on Tuesday, Mr. Velez shared with our little ones that we are creative because God is creative.  They looked at some of His wonderful creations, including each other, and how to use our creativity for good!  When we use our creativity for good, that makes God happy. In Middle School chapel, we were thrilled to have Ms Libby come back to minister to our students and talk about how to study the Word of God.

Bookfair

Choo choo… the Bookfair is coming the week of November 6th – 10th, but you do not have to wait that long to order books. On October 16th, you can purchase from BCA’s Online Book Fair.
